City Hall offices and Lenexa Old Town Activity Center will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7. Other facilities have adjusted hours. The family-oriented Lenexa Spinach Festival is packed with food, music, entertainment, hands-on activities and craft vendors. Experience the World’s Largest Spinach Salad, learn about our history, or submit your favorite dish to our recipe contest. There’s plenty to do for everyone in the family! 9 a.m.–1:30 p.m.: Cane pole fishing, pedal boat rides 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m.: Craft activity, inflatables, face painting, balloon twisting, high-striker strength tester, pedicab rides 11:15 a.m.: Swee'Pea Baby Crawling Contest (check-in at 10:45 a.m.; crawling babies only) (Free samples after awards at approximately 3:30 p.m.)
