A tax rate of $0.660000 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of the City of Grand Prairie. A public hearing on the proposed tax rate will be held during the City Council Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 15, 2026, at 300 W. Main St., Grand Prairie, TX 75050. The Grand Prairie Farmers Market will close one hour early at noon beginning August 15, 22 and 29 due to forecasted extreme heat. The market will return with extended hours on Saturday, Sept. 5, for Pickle Fest, taking place in Downtown Grand Prairie. The Farmers Market will be open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. Farmers Market at Market Square, 120 W. Main St., in downtown Grand Prairie, Texas, is open Saturdays April through mid-December.
