About the event
The Historic Valley Junction Farmers Market runs every Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., May through September, along the 100 to 300 blocks of 5th Street in West Des Moines, narrowing to the 100 and 200 blocks in September. More than 80 weekly vendors sell fresh produce, baked goods, plants, flowers, arts and crafts and prepared foods, with live music in a beverage garden at Railroad Park, plus a Hot Pepper Eating Competition on September 17.
