The 22nd Annual Princeton Onion Festival is a celebration of community, heritage, and hometown pride benefitting the Princeton Lions Club. Collin County's rich onion history started right here in Princeton, TX. By the 1940s, Princeton was shipping 175 train-car loads of onions each year, helping put our community on the map across North Texas. Old-timers still tell the story of the sweet Bermuda onion that earned Princeton the proud title of the Onion Capital of Texas . Every year, the Princeton Lions Club proudly hosts the Princeton Onion Festival to celebrate our town's history and raise funds to support the families of Princeton ISD.
