Celebrate Sidney’s vibrant community spirit at our beloved Oktoberfest, returning to the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds and downtown Sidney this first full weekend in October. This family-friendly festival blends the warmth of Midwest hospitality with the festive flair of a German and Scottish tradition—complete with keg tapping, a lively beer garden, bagpipes, delicious ethnic fare, and non‑stop entertainment. Friday : Opening ceremony and continuous live music noon–midnight in the Oktoberfest Tent. Craft Show in the Large Event Building, Farmers Market and Open Air Vendors. Saturday : 7:30 AM 5K run, 10 AM parade downtown, Cruisin’ Classic Car Show, and evening band at the tent Continuous live music noon–midnight in the Oktoberfest Tent. Sidney Gold Rush Days is a family oriented outdoor festival held the second weekend of June at Legion Park in Sidney, Nebraska. The event highlights the history of the 1870s Sidney to Deadwood Gold Rush Trail with wagon rides, hands on gold panning, craft projects, and craftsmen demonstrating blacksmithing and woodworking, along with food and merchandise vendors.
