North Carolina requires artists who make taxable retail sales to register for a Sales and Use Tax account, collect the appropriate sales tax from customers, and file and remit the tax to the North Carolina Department of Revenue. Artists are responsible for understanding and meeting their own sales tax obligations. If you are a Weaverville area resident artist and would like to become a member of the Weaverville Art Safari, you must apply to have your artwork juried into the organization.
