The Alaska Bald Eagle Festival in Haines centers on the largest gathering of bald eagles in the world, with guided trips to the Alaska Bald Eagle Preserve where more than 3000 eagles gather to feed on a late salmon run. The festival includes the Flight for Freedom eagle release, wildlife workshops and presentations, and evening entertainment, based at the American Bald Eagle Foundation museum at Second Avenue and the Haines Highway.
