The Washington Street Unity Festival is a free, family-friendly event held on the historic Washington Street in High Point, NC—a once-thriving hub for the Black community known as “Black Wall Street” in the 1950s and 60s. The area, rich with Black-owned businesses, churches, and culture, is being brought back to life through community efforts. What began as a small neighborhood gathering has grown into a yearly celebration of pride, unity, and history.
Like every great athlete, leader, and community, there comes a defining moment—a season that marks the transition from potential to purpose. As the Washington Street Unity Festival celebrates 16 years, we honor the legacy that built us while embracing the confidence, leadership, and vision that will shape our future. This is more than an anniversary. It is our Coming of Age.
Celebrate in style at our Sweet 16 Community Festival with a fun-filled day inspired by the excitement and sparkle of turning sixteen! This lively event brings the community together with music, games, delicious treats, local vendors, and activities for all ages.
This monthly evening makerfaire happens the first Monday and third Sunday of most months at NOMAD Wine Works in High Point, run in collaboration with Molten Makerspace. The October 5, 2026 edition runs 4 to 8pm, mixing local makers, artists and small businesses with wine and cider tastings, plus hands on demos and interactive activities for all ages.
