Town Council Meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of the Month at 6PM in the White Hall Public Safety Building Chambers The Town of White Hall was established December 18, 1992. The Election of Government Officials occurred on February 9, 1993. The first meeting for the Town of White Hall was called to order by Mayor William "Bill" McIntire. The Town held meetings on Local Drive until 2005 when the First Town Hall was built on Timrod Drive. The Town grew substantially over the years with an increased office staff, police force, public works department, and municipal court.

By working with local farmers and the Williamson Redevelopment Authority, we help to increase production of fresh produce for the Williamson Farmers Market each season and maintain the Ramella Park Community Garden of Eatin’. In order to connect Diabetic patients and program participants to healthier options, we started a prescription vouchers program to incentivize and reward healthy behaviors. With the goal to increase access to healthy foods in the community, many Healthy Living Workshops have been centered on growing your own garden and maintaining and processing your foods. Among other efforts to increase access, in the Fall of 2013 the Farmers Market vendors were able to accept payment through EBT SNAP Benefits, eliminating one healthy food access barrier. The City of Mount Hope is currently in the process of updating the 2013 comprehensive plan. The comprehensive plan will determine an overall vision of Mount Hope and what it aspires to be in the future. The comprehensive plan will identify issues and concerns of residents and create a realistic action plan. The plan will promote the collaboration of key stakeholders, local citizen groups, and residents in the planning process. Citizen input is a vital part of the planning process. Therefore, a survey has been created to solicit input from the public. The survey is designed to only take a few minutes to complete and will help local elected officials identify issues and concerns in Mount Hope. This information is vital in helping to define the future of Mount Hope and what actions the city should take for it to prosper.
